Wow – was Christmas day a lot of fun this year! We had Santa pay us a visit early Christmas morning and he spoiled us rotten. SPOILED. ROTTEN. We had a lot of fun opening all the gifts that were left under our tree. I then got to working on cooking the bird while Oliver played with all his new toys and Dana got the house ready for our guests. We then had both sets of Grand Parents over along with Oliver’s Aunt, Uncle and Cousin for an early afternoon visit and Christmas dinner. We had a fire going for most of the day and it was super cozy in our house, the way it should be over Christmas.

Not a lot of pictures taken but a lot of great memories from a wonderful day.

Every year we’ve taken Oliver to visit Santa at the Bramalea City Centre. When Santa comes there, he is always in a good mood and Oliver really enjoys seeing him. It’s also really fun to have a “family photo” taken with Santa each year. You can see how much we’ve changed over the past three years just by comparing the photos (year one here and year two here). Oliver is really growing up quickly!

Another year has past and another Lacelle family Christmas party is upon us. This year it was a little quieter than previous years, which made it a lot more cozy! Every year, Santa Claus makes a stop in Woodbridge for all the kids. Oliver loves visiting with Santa and this year he brought Oliver a couple new Chuggington Trains. Of course, Oliver thought Santa was bringing him some new cars from Cars 2 but Mum and Daddy knew that Santa was saving those wonderful gifts for Christmas at our house. You’ll see that in an upcoming post.

Last year we took Oliver for the first time to visit Santa at the Bramalea City Centre and we had a lot of fun. Surprisingly to us, Oliver was very good with Santa. We’ve all heard horror stories of kids fearing Santa and I must say, we were a little relieved to know that was not going to be the case with our sweet Oliver.

So when it was time to take Oliver to see Santa this Christmas, we’d hoped the outcome would be the same as last year. And sure enough, Oliver didn’t disappoint. This year, we had to wait in line for a bit to get our chance with Saint Nick. The family in front of us had barely cleared Santa’s knee when Oliver went running towards him, arms outstretched, calling his name. It’s one time I’d die to replay over again so I could have the chance to record the moment. It was that cute.

So I guess we’ll just have to settle for the pictures below. Luckily for us, they are pretty wonderful in their own right!

Today is Oliver’s second Christmas. Santa has visited our house yet again and left some wonderful gifts for us all. Oliver’s favourite gift: a bag of Apple Crisps he got in his stocking. Clearly Santa knew what Oliver would like! Mum and Dad spent the rest of the morning opening the other gifts while Oliver ran around the living room with his crinkly bag of Apple Crisps. Ah, all in good fun.

Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpaw’s for more presents and a Christmas dinner. Mom (Grandma) outdid herself once again. We had probably one the juiciest turkey I’ve ever tasted. We had a surprise visitor, my Auntie Karen for dinner and a visit. It was wonderful to see her again.

Last year Oliver was only 26 days old when Christmas came around and that didn’t leave us a heck of a lot of time to introduce him to Santa beforehand. So, this year we made a point of checking his schedule and going and meeting with Saint Nick at the Bramalea City Centre when he was there.

As suspected, Oliver had no problem with the Big Guy in Red, smiling and looking curiously at Santa’s full white beard.

We were also lucky enough to get a couple of family photos done with Santa which was a really nice keepsake. I can’t remember the last time I had my photo taken with Santa Claus, but it’s been a really long time!
