Another afternoon at Gage Park for the Connell family! Oliver loves playing in the playground and on the splash pad so how could we resist? We always have a great time and I am always happy to bring along my camera for the ride! LOL!

We went for the petting zoo but stayed for the carnival! I wish I could say that more often but on this morning, it was all that we needed! Chingacousy park has a great petting zoo and we thought we would take Oliver over to pet some animals. What we didn’t know was that there was a carnival in the parking lot! So, we took Oliver on his first merry-go-round, and we tried to go on the “race cars” but the lady wouldn’t let him on because he wasn’t all enough. Of course, the height restriction was the same as the merry-go-round but we weren’t in an arguing mood – we just took another spin on the horses!

We finished the morning with some snow cones and some fun pictures of our green and blue tongues!

For the last two years, the neighbours of the Rosedale, Mill, Isabella area in downtown Brampton have gotten together to throw a Canada Day Street party for all the kids. This includes games, activities, a visit from a firetruck, food, a parade and fireworks. And even though we don’t live on Mill Street North anymore, we are still really close with the people of the neighbourhood so we were asked to join in on the fun again! And boy, did Oliver have fun! He bounced on the trampoline; he played in the bouncy castle; he ate some yummy food, and he enjoyed the fireworks!

Believe it or not, Oliver has been alive for twenty months and we’ve only taken him to get his hair cut twice. TWICE! His second haircut came back in Mid-June as it was just getting way too out of control. It was all scraggly and stringy and looked like Old Man’s hair. It was bad! So, Dana took him over to a local hairdressers for a little trim and wow, did it ever change his face! He looked like a completely different person after his haircut. He is CLEARLY becoming such a little boy.

Day five hundred & sixty-seven saw us take a quick trip up to Mom & Dad Connell’s for the afternoon to celebrate Father’s Day. We only snapped a couple of photos this day, but they’re quite cute so I thought I would share them. We forgot Oliver’s highchair so we went Old School and had him sitting on the Yellow Pages. LOL! He actually seemed to like it! Gosh he is getting big quick!

On this morning, Oliver, Dana and I were goofing around in the living room and Dana captured these fine moments of Oliver and I. It’s not very often that I get my picture taken these days so it’s nice to have a couple of photographs of my son and I.

Another wonderful afternoon in Gage Park in downtown Brampton, Oliver, Dana and I spent some time walking, running, and playing. Oliver had a couple of firsts this afternoon: (1) It was his first time going down a slide on his own (2) Subsequently, Oliver attempted for the first time to climb back up the slide and (3) It was Oliver’s first time eating weeds, specifically dandelions. Good times were had by all!

Mother’s day every year is a hectic day for us that Connell household. We usually end up trying to cram in as much visiting as possible on this day, which means we are trekking across most of Ontario! This year was no exception as we spent the morning having brunch with Dana’s parents in Woodbridge, and then we headed up to Victoria Harbour to see my parents.

Once again, Oliver was just a doll the entire time – keeping us entertained with his big smiles and wonderful attitude. It can’t be easy for an 18-month old to spend that much time in a car on any given day, but Oliver seems to take it very well. We are very proud of him!

It’s been a while since Oliver and I hung out with the camera. I mean, we took a bunch of pictures on our vacation to Haines City Florida where we visited Nana and Grand Dad and that was great! But Oliver and I used to spend some time, usually in the mornings on a weekend, taking photos. I miss that. I think that as he gets older though, he is less concerned with the camera and more excited about doing things he likes, like eating, climbing on the couch, and playing with his toy trains.

Luckily for me, I was able to capture all those things on this evening in April. Enjoy the photos below.

During one of the first weeks of April, Dana, Oliver and I traveled to Central Florida to visit Dana’s parents at their “winter house.” Oliver’s Nana and Grand Dad live in Florida for six months of the year so we were all super-excited to visit with them. This was also Oliver’s first time on a plane and while he was such a hit with all the other passengers in the airport, he struggled a bit during the flight. It’s tough for a busy 16 month old to stay still on a plane for three plus hours.

During our visit, we spent some time in shopping malls, at the pool, wandering the golf course, and taking fun trips on the golf cart. We had beautiful weather, with only one morning of rain.
