The many faces of Oliver was a small series I did last year where Oliver got dressed up in a bunch of his costumes and posed for some photographs. If you are interested, you can see the images at the following link: The Many Faces of Oliver. It doesn’t happen very often as Oliver is […]
The Easter Bunny is always very good to us and this year was no exception. Oliver had a blast searching through all the clues and limericks the ‘Ol Bunny left for him to find some treats. As you can see from the last photo, Dash wasn’t too impressed Ha! Cheers! trevor.
As Oliver learns to read, different topics start to interest him more and more. He stumbled on the Captain Underpants series and fell in love with the goofy topics and the illustrations in the books. I swear I didn’t stage these photos of Oliver. I found him fast asleep one night after he finished up […]
Here are some photos from our annual trip to Downey’s Farm in North Brampton. We always have a blast visiting this place just before Hallowe’en and this year was no exception. Oliver had fun playing a bit of mini-golf, running on the hay bails, and challenging us to races on the large go-cart-type-tricycles. The afternoon […]
It was an unseasonably warm Thanksgiving this year and for the first time in my lifetime, we got to spend it out on the water. We took a quick day-trip up to visit with Oliver’s Nana & Grand Dad, spending the day cruising the open waterways for beautiful Autumn colours and crisp, fresh air. I […]
Our annual trip to Wasaga Beach as a family is always a great time. We pine for the beach a lot and we always leave wondering why we don’t make time to get up there more. We enjoyed the day eating junk food, building sand castles in the sun and swimming in the wonderfully warm […]
While we were out in Eastern Ontario, we were able to also visit our good friends Lindsay and Andy and their three AWESOME boys. We had a relaxing time lounging by the pool, visiting a cool market in downtown Kingston, and eating great food. It was exactly what we needed to end off the summer. […]
Reunions. They can either be really great or really crappy. This time around, we got the latter. A close high school friend of Dana’s invited us to a little cottage her family had rented. There were a few other high school friends going that Dana hadn’t seen in a while so it was a lot […]
It had been a long LONG while since we’d been to the ROM. We were desperate to find an outing to do as a family so we decided to head to downtown Toronto and visit the Museum. When we went, the had the Pompeii exhibition on which was really unearthing to see. We had a […]
It’s no secret that we love taking road-trips. Long or short, multiple day or just an afternoon, it’s a cheap way to get out and spend some time together as a family. We sometimes have a destination, others we just get in the car and drive. On this particular weekend, we decided to take a […]
Just a few black and white photos of Oliver as he lounges on the couch. This was probably one of our sleepy, laid-back Sundays where we enjoy hanging out as a family. Cheers! trevor.
Oliver really got into Pokemon last year. As he got towards the end of the school year, we picked up some cards for him he didn’t have and a new binder book to hold everything. He used to sit on the floor in the dining (aka drinking) room and sort his cards for hours. Here […]
Here is Oliver and Julia showing off their swimming skills during our family vacation in Jamaica. Cheers, t.
Wow – it’s been almost 10 months since the last update to this blog. Geez! That’s crazy. Look out viewers, some of these updates are going to come fast and furious as I try to catch up. So when we last chatted, we celebrated Oliver’s Grandpa’s 70th birthday. Right after that, we were fortunate enough […]
As a surprise, Grandma threw a party for Grandpa’s 70th birthday with all his neighbourhood friends. He was completely surprised and I think he enjoyed the get together and all the attention. We had a wonderful afternoon full of catered lunch, cake and great conversation. Here are some photos we took that afternoon. Cheers! t.
Oliver grabbed the video camera and filmed Dana and I while we prepped dinner. It’s a cute little snippet into what Oliver sees. Cheers! t.
Sometimes you have to just go for it. Oliver has been increasingly short with me when I point a camera at him. He’ll shy away; give some sort of goofy face or just plain look down and away from the lens. He’ll give me nothing. So when Oliver was dressing up in some of his […]
It’s no secret that Oliver really loves Lego. Santa was really generous this year and he brought the Lego Star Wars Ewok Village to our household. I’m surprised Oliver could contain his excitement when he opened the gift, let alone wait two days to put it together. I believe the set has a couple of […]
More Christmas celebrations, this time on Boxing Day with the Ruprechts. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of presents and dinner. Oliver loves his cousin so much and it always is so cute to watch them play together. They even made us wear hats at dinner. I think Nana looks especially cute in her Cowgirl hat. […]
Christmas morning is always fun around our household. You think you understand the magic of Christmas but I’d argue that it’s not something you can truly understand until you see it through the eyes of your son or daughter. It’s an exceptional time of year; one where all the planning and hard work pays off. […]
Having two families along with extended families can be tough to schedule at Christmas time. We work hard to accommodate everyone’s schedules and sometimes that means a little creative planning. This year we were heading to my Aunt and Uncle’s for Christmas day dinner. To accommodate for that, we ended up celebrating Christmas and my […]
Oliver got pretty excited for Christmas this year and after last year’s ice storm debacle, he had every right to be. So, when Dana and I found him one night in bed, cuddled up with his little brother Duckie, wearing his Santa hat, it just made sense to document the moment with my camera. One […]
We always have some fun decorating our Christmas tree. It’s usually a two-step process over the course of a weekend: (1) we go and get our real tree and (2) we decorate it the following day. The last couple of years I’ve taken to capturing some of the moments with my trusty Fuji X-E2 because […]
Here’s a short video we made of Dana and Oliver decorating the tops of the cookies that would be going on the cupcakes with white icing…
