In August, Dana and I returned to our family cottage “Cedar Tip” to try another week of vacationing with Oliver. If you recall, the first trip was when Oliver was still quite young and unfortunately, it was more work than a vacation. We had high hopes for this years trip and it didn’t disappoint. We spent the week with Oliver’s Grandma and Papa and our close family friends the Hodgdon’s from the States. Oliver quickly developed a crush on Christie, who was absolutely wonderful at entertaining him.

We enjoyed boat rides, shore Lunches, trips to local towns, fishing, swimming and eating. The weather was just wonderful too!

The week seemed to go by so quickly this time around. We are very happy with the memories we created at Cedar Tip this year and look forward to many more family vacations up there in the years to come.

We had been meaning to get up to Kingston to visit the “Dirties” for some time and finally in early August, we were able to clear one weekend and go and see them. The Lamoureux Clan also showed which meant there were a lot of boys under one roof! We laughed, we played with the boys (and Marlo), we ATE (my goodness did we eat!) and we even had a little adult alone time with our friends playing cards and having drinks. It was great to see everyone again. It was also great to recharge and get away for a night. You quickly remember that’s what summer is all about.

We spent boxing day with Grandma and Grandpaw in Victoria Harbour. It was a good day to eat some more scrumptious food (like we hadn’t had enough from the night before), sit and chat and enjoy each other’s company. Oliver played quite a bit with his Goldfish Crackers, and even took and “indoor sleigh ride” in his new sleigh he got for Christmas. We also had some family visitors. Oliver got to meet his Great Aunt Bev and Great Uncle Guy for the first time, and he played with his cousins Michelle, Bobby and Brittany.
