Oliver’s school had a Valentine’s Day dance for parents and their children. Oliver was super excited to go because his girlfriend Lily was going to be there. So, we went with Oliver and sure enough, things didn’t play out the way Oliver would have liked. Lily ended up not being able to make it and Oliver was pretty disappointed. To see your son stood up at age five and the resulting disappointment is definitely crushing as a parent.

Good thing there were cupcakes 🙂
