Everyone was super excited to see Oliver’s sixth birthday roll around. Dana had been planning for a while making loot bags, setting up decorations and baking. Oliver loves a good party so his energy the morning of was off the charts. That’s what led to the unthinkable happening. Oliver went to answer the door to invite his first guests into the house when he stumbled and fell face first against the stairs. He ended up putting one of his eye teeth through the side of his cheek, requiring a trip to the emergency and five stitches (2 on the outside and 3 on the inside of his mouth).
We were in and out of the hospital relatively quickly (three hours) so Dana surprised Oliver by getting some of his friends and party-goers to come back for some cupcakes and partying.
All in all, it turned out to be a day that we’d all just like to forget. As you can see from the photos below, I made lots of images before the party began, and only a couple when we returned from the hospital. It just wasn’t the right time to be snapping photos. Oh well.
Here’s to hoping next year’s birthday party for Oliver will be better.
Cheers!

This was the note Dana had to leave on the door for our guests
