–Part three of three– Here’s the last post of images from our cottage vacation this past summer. As you can see from these photos, we had some fun in the boat, took some photos of great textures and colours, found a really cool cross-section of a wasp’s hive, and did a little work too. Dana […]
— Part two of three — Here are some more photos from our family vacation to Cedar Tip, the Connell family cottage which is located way, way up in northern Ontario. In this post of photographs, you’ll see we introduced Oliver to the board game Life; Oliver took some photos; and we enjoyed some more […]
— Post one of three — We spent a week at the family cottage this year. It’s a long trek to get there (roughly 7 hours give or take) but it’s always worth it when you get to spend a week playing on the beach, fishing, eating outside, and reuniting with close family friends. That’s […]
Family reunions. They don’t happen very often in my opinion but when they do, you always leave the event wondering why you can’t do it more. Dana’s side of the family is quite good at getting together twice a year (for a family picnic in the summer and a Christmas party in December) but my […]
–Part One in a three-series post– In march we took a family vacation down to visit Dana’s parents in Florida. We did all the things you should do while in Florida: swim, eat great food, go to Disney World, go to the beach, enjoy the sun and beautiful weather. I took so many photos I […]
It’s no secret I like to hibernate in the winter. Dana is the same way. But when we had Oliver, we realized that one or both of us would have to start venturing out during the winter months with him. And to see how excited he gets to play in the snow, how could you […]
Downey’s Farm, it’s a great place for kids and adults alike. We tend to go once a year, when the pumpkins are all out because they really do it up for the kids. It’s great to go back to the same location…
On or around Father’s Day every year, we head on up to Oliver’s Nana and Grand Dad’s place for a nice afternoon and a great dinner. They also have a pontoon boat which is always fun to go out on but this year – it was raining so we decided to stick around the cottage instead of tempting the open waters. In the photos below, you’ll see that Oliver had some fun…
We don’t eat out on our back deck nearly as much as we should. It’s a beautiful spot, and the weather has been so picture-perfect this summer that it’s a shame we haven’t spent more time out there. We hope to remedy that in the coming years.
But for now, on this long weekend in May…
Back in May (I know, I know – I’m trying to catch up on my processing I promise!) I had an engagement shoot with the lovely Denise and Ron at Webster’s Falls in Dundas Ontario. Oliver and Dana decided to come along and after my shoot, we explored the area.
If I remember correctly, this was our Mother’s Day celebration. Oh and boy did we have fun! The day started with some fun playtime in the living room. We then got ready and went to the Sunset Grill for some brunch. It is our very favourite place to have brunch and the staff all know and love Oliver. He is such a charmer, that’s for sure…
Oliver and I took another visit to Grandma and Papa’s house – this time to celebrate my birthday. It’s been a great winter to head north because for the most part, the roads have been good and it’s nice to escape to some snow! We haven’t had much down here…
We haven’t had much snow this winter and any that has fallen, it’s pretty much disappeared before our eyes. So when New Years Eve came around and we realized there was enough snow on the ground to get out and make Oliver his first…
We’ve been through three Autumns now with Oliver and this year we finally played in the leaves together! In previous years, it has just seemed like Oliver was (a) too young or (b) I was too late and the snow was…
Back in the fall, I shot some promo photos for Dana and her website. Oliver had fun playing while we were trying out some different poses and locations. In between makeup touch-ups and wardrobe changes…
For three years running now – we’ve taken a little family trip to Downey’s Farm. We’ve taken photos of our trips the previous two years and they have been ones that we cherish fondly. So it came time to take our third trip to the farm and this year didn’t disappoint….
At the end of September, I shot good friends Janet and Tigh’s engagement photos on Janet’s family farm. Dana, Oliver and I made a day of it and they came along for the ride. After we were done on the farm, we headed over…

Oliver visited our good friend Melissa’s house and she has a trampoline. Of course, Oliver LOVED it! She was kind enough to document the fun…
In August, Dana and I returned to our family cottage “Cedar Tip” to try another week of vacationing with Oliver. If you recall, the first trip was when Oliver was still quite young and unfortunately, it was…
Once again we celebrated Canada Day with our friends and old neighbours at the annual Rosedale Street Party. If you remember this is the day when Rosedale Ave. gets closed down for about 50+ kids…
This will be short and sweet I promise! Playing some extreme catch-up with Oliver’s Blog. I’m sorry to all the people who frequent this site (thanks Mom) as I have been slacking on getting new photos and video…
I love B/W Photographs. Always have. There is something about the richness of the tones that can be achieved in B/W’s that appeals directly to me. So for those that know my photography, I always try to include some B/W images…
The great spring thaw! On this day in March, it started to get warmer out and everything was melting. It still wasn’t warm enough to not have jackets, touques and gloves on, but it was certainly nice to feel…
November was a really hectic month around the Connell household. Dana was in full production mode for two craft shows…
