An equally awesome day/evening was Boxing day when we spent some time with the Ruprechts. We opened presents, had a wonderful meal and even played Cards Against Humanity (sans kids of course). It was a fabulous way to finish up the Christmas festivities. Cheers! trevor.
In early December, we celebrated both Oliver’s 7th birthday and Julia’s 9th birthday together with the rest of the Ruprecht clan. Since Oliver’s birthday is the end of November and Julia’s is the end of December, picking a date to celebrate somewhere in the middle of the month (before Christmas preparations get really crazy) is […]

Here is Oliver and Julia showing off their swimming skills during our family vacation in Jamaica. Cheers, t.
Wow – it’s been almost 10 months since the last update to this blog. Geez! That’s crazy. Look out viewers, some of these updates are going to come fast and furious as I try to catch up. So when we last chatted, we celebrated Oliver’s Grandpa’s 70th birthday. Right after that, we were fortunate enough […]
More Christmas celebrations, this time on Boxing Day with the Ruprechts. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of presents and dinner. Oliver loves his cousin so much and it always is so cute to watch them play together. They even made us wear hats at dinner. I think Nana looks especially cute in her Cowgirl hat. […]
Oliver’s favourite cousin Julia had her 1st Communion a little while back. Being the good Uncle I am, I brought my Fuji X-E2 and a couple of lenses and took some photos for her. Not being an overly religious family, it’s interesting to attend events like this and see what they are all about. Congratulations […]
Christmas this year was overshadowed by the Ice Storm that we went through at home. With the destruction of so many 100-year-old trees; the loss of power for seven days; and the damage done to our house, it was hard to get in to the Christmas spirit. Luckily enough, Oliver’s Christmas was quite a great […]
Continuing with the theme of the last post (i.e. Star Wars), Oliver wanted a Star Wars themed birthday party this year. So we had Star Wars themed decorations, games, cupcakes, presents and loot bags. Oliver invited some of his school friends over to play and enjoy the birthday celebrations. It was a lot of fun […]
This year we celebrated Christmas with the Ruprechts a couple of days earlier. We had a great time opening gifts, exchanging compliments and stories, and having a great dinner. Unfortunately, this was ultimately the start of what would become a month long sickness at our house which eventually crippled our Christmas break/New Year’s plans completely…
has been in swimming lessons at the Making Waves Swimming School for a couple of years now. He’s learning so much and is becoming so comfortable in the water that how can we not continue to enroll him year after year?
Wow – was Christmas day a lot of fun this year! We had Santa pay us a visit early Christmas morning and he spoiled us rotten. SPOILED. ROTTEN. We had a lot of fun opening all the gifts that were left under our tree. I then got to working on cooking…
Another year has past and another Lacelle family Christmas party is upon us. This year it was a little quieter than previous years, which made it a lot more cozy! Every year, Santa Claus makes a stop in Woodbridge for all the kids. Oliver loves…
Another Father’s Day has come and gone. Once again, the Ruprecht’s and the Connell’s got together in Port Severn at Mom & Dad Ruprecht’s place to celebrate Father’s Day. We spent a lot of the day…

November 30th was fast approaching and Oliver was turning TWO! We put together a small birthday party and had our families over to celebrate. Everything was going great until…
Mother’s day every year is a hectic day for us that Connell household. We usually end up trying to cram in as much visiting as possible on this day, which means we are trekking across most of Ontario! This year…
We had the best intentions. Everything was in order: thirty plus people coming to our house; loot bags were done and ready; cake was made; outfits were picked out. Everything you do to prepare for your son’s first…
Every year, Dana’s Mom’s side of the family gets together for a BBQ in the summer and a Christmas party in the winter. This year was Oliver’s first Family Picnic. He got to meet some of his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins…
Father’s Day. A joyous occasion where we get together to celebrate being a Dad. This year was my first with Oliver and I had a great day! We celebrated by having our families over for a BBQ in our new backyard…
On Good Friday, we spent the late morning/early afternoon at Ross and Sharon Ruprecht’s, enjoying a wonderful Easter Brunch. All the family was there, happy as could be not to be at school…
Three words: Oliver’s First Christmas! What a blast we had! We thought the easiest thing to do would be to host both the Connell and the Ruprecht families at our house for Christmas Day dinner.
